Objectives:
The West Florida Baptist Institute is a Bible and Church Training institution established in 1983 under the ownership and direction of First Missionary Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida. The purpose is not to make preachers, but to train people as ministers, missionaries, and Christian workers.
It is not the purpose of the West Florida Bible Institute to teach secular courses. Those courses taught that are not Bible-related are all of a practical nature and are offered to assist the Christian worker in his or her field of labor.
Sponsorship/Co-sponsorship:
The West Florida Baptist Institute is now under the direction of The Magnolia Springs Baptist Church, Theodore, Alabama. Magnolia Springs Baptist Church has appointed two trustees to represent and oversee the direction of the school. Three additional trustees have been added for a total of eight to make the decisions pertaining to the material assets of the West Florida Baptist Institute. Churches throughout the American Baptist Association and interested parties help to finance the Institute with offerings and gifts. The school and her administrators are always willing to listen to the wise counsel of other churches and their elders.
All legal documents pertaining to W.F.B.I. must be signed and approved by the trustees of West Florida Baptist Institute, Inc., Pensacola, Florida.

The West Florida Baptist Institute is located in Pensacola, Florida. This is a favorable location because it affords an excellent opportunity for ministerial training to preachers living in Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and North Florida.
The job opportunities are good in this area, making it possible for a person to work while attending school. This area is a growing area which brings in new industry, making this venture possible.
There is a good base of churches in this area making it possible for a person to work in a church and receive good practical experience while in school.
Affiliations:
The West Florida Baptist Institute offers two departments of Biblical studies. The Theology degree programs are designed for ministerial students, and the Christian Educational programs are designed for non-ministerial students. The West Florida Baptist Institute has been authorized to operate as set forth in Chapter 246.083, Florida Statutes by the State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities. The West Florida Baptist Institute is a member of the American Baptist Association of Theological Schools and subscribes to its Catalog of Uniform Standards.
Veterans' Affairs:
The West Florida Baptist Institute is approved for the training of veterans through the Bureau of State Approving for Veterans Training under Chapter 36, Title 38, U. S. Code, Section 1776. Veterans may obtain the necessary forms to file from the office of Registrar. Since the VA does not pay the school directly, any student receiving VA benefits is responsible for all tuition and expenses.
