Our Mission
The Gulf Coast Baptist College is a Bible and Church Training institution established in 1983 under the ownership and direction of First Missionary Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida. The purpose is not to make preachers, but to train people as ministers, missionaries, and Christian workers.
It is not the purpose of the Gulf Coast Baptist College to teach secular courses. Those courses taught that are not Bible-related are all of a practical nature and are offered to assist the Christian worker in his or her field of labor.

Message from the President
To our Supporting churches:
I send everyone greeting in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I trust that you are continuing to receive the blessing of our lord as you serve Him.
I thank every individual and church that has been so faithful to support me and this ministry. Often when things are not going well in a ministry, people are inclined to drop their support. I thank those who have been so faithful to stay with us through all the transition. The work is not done yet but it is ongoing.
There are a few things that I wanted to shear with you all.
1.The print shop is complete. A great deal of work went into making it usable and I do appreciate everyone who worked so hard to make it possible.2.The majority of the usable things from Pensacola have been moved to Mobile. However, there is always the expense of the storage unit. I was able to get one for just less than $70.00 per month.3.There are still several pieces of equipment that has not been moved. All of what is left has tentatively been sold. All I have to do now is to have the individual to pay for it and pick it up.4.The ministry is in need of financial help. The building was purchased on the strength that the property was sold. We had a contract and a deposit. However, with the difficulty with the zoning, the buyer withdrew. Now we are faced with the payment. It is $434.00 dollars per month.5.The one thing that I had some confidence in was that once we had pour equipment was moved, I would be able to catch up on the things that needed to be done. However, shortly after getting started, both machines went down. I had a tech out three times on one of the units and he had not been gone 30 minutes and it went down again, I have worked on the color units more times than I could and I am not able to get it working again. One of the units is Ricoh 6002 and the other is a Ricoh 6502. It has been the workhorse for all of our color printing. I do not plane to replace the 6002 but I will need to replace the color unit. I have researched several units but few that I can afford, will accommodate the 11x17 format. If anyone could help us replace that unit, it would be a tremendous blessing to us all. I am not very good at raising funds for things like this. I have always depended on getting the money to do what needed to be done.6.There are some changes coming soon to the ministry. These things I will report on next month, along with a note from my pastor.

History
On May 6, 2022, The West Florida Baptist institute completed thirty-nine years of operations in Pensacola, Florida. It is with extreme mixed emotions, for me, that this will be the last closing at this present location. The Lord has blessed this ministry in so many ways and it has been a difficult decision for me to accept. However, as a servant of the Lord, this is His work and not mine. As the Lord closes one door He will open another.In April of 2022, the trustees met in a special meeting to discuss the future of the school. After several options of discussion the trustees voted to recommend to Magnolia Springs Baptist Church, the sponsoring church, to make a decision on the recommendation of the trustees. The church voted in a regular conference on May 20, 2023, to accept the recommendation of the trustees and move the school to their facilities.The new name of the school will be, "Gulf Coast Baptist College" There will be no change in the objectives or the doctrine of the school. Many things have happened over the past two years that made the decision to move a necessity. We will leave behind so many students that have graced the classrooms of West Florida Baptist Institute. However, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and know that trust in God is an absolute must. On October 15, 2023, the Schillinger Road Baptist Church voted in a special conference to allow the Gulf Coast Baptist College to begin offering classes in their facilities on a temporary basis. A search for suitable facilities is now underway. In the beginning, efforts were made to acquire a building that could house the print shop. However, due to circumstances that have developed in the past two months, it has become necessary for the college to purchase a facility that can house both the school and the print ministry. The objectives of both ministries will not change.Efforts are underway to make the changes . It was a difficult task to move the equipment from Pensacola to Theodore, and it will be equally as difficult to make the move again. The old facility in Pensacola has been place for sale and a contract for deed has been given. An individual has expressed interest in purchasing the entire property. All the debit must be settled before the final closer of the facilities in Pensacola.Please keep the trustees and myself in your prayers as we work through this transition.
